Jonathan Lightcap is Adjunct Faculty and the Audio Coordinator for the Department of Music at Lehigh University. He is a practicing audio engineer, who has diverse experience within the audio industry. As a recording engineer, he has captured hundreds of live concerts for professional and educational organizations. In recording sessions, he especially enjoys working with chamber ensembles, collaborative duos and trios. Although Jonathan specializes in recording classical and jazz music, his experience as a live audio engineer extends well beyond those genres.  As a front of house engineer, Jonathan has mixed artists ranging from Rose Royce to The National Parks at music festivals and concerts. As a broadcast engineer, Jonathan mixed contemporary artists like Stephen Christian and Sarah Reeves, in addition to a plethora of jazz and classical streams.  Previously, Jonathan served with regional production companies as a production manager, lead audio engineer, monitor engineer, systems technician, and stagehand. Jonathan has designed and deployed concert systems for use at various festivals, conferences, and other events; and recently enjoyed providing local systems for Spin Doctors and The Wall Flowers. Jonathan credits his experience as cross-disciplinary, and leans on it heavily for use in teaching. In addition to his appointment at Lehigh University, Jonathan assists with recordings at the Wells School of Music, the Strings Music Festival, and operates an independent recording business. Professor Lightcap holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Instrumental Performance from West Chester University, and a Master of Music from the University of New Mexico.
